STEM Club and Tutoring

Carl Chandler, PhD is the founder and lead scientist at Sun Aquasystems. Carl finished his PhD in computational physics at the University of Alberta in 2016 and has been building and running experiments ever since. Born in Yarmouth County, he moved back in 2018 and now lives in South Ohio with his wife and five children. Tutoring and evening stem club are good ways to encourage scientific thinking and learn useful skills for the future.

STEM CLUB Extra Curricular

Extra curricular clubs meet weekly to study a topic of special interest to the student. Topics and projects are flexible and tailored to the student’s interests and capabilities. Sun Aquasystems has a well equipped workshop for hands on learning and prototyping.


Examples :
Computer programming (python)
Robotics (embedded) programming (Arduino, c)
CAD design and 3D printing
engineering project (problem identification to prototype testing, learning the necessary skills along the way)

Tutoring

Junior high and high school students: tutoring for mathematics, physics, computer programming.
Support for homeschoolers wanting to do AP math and science courses for university credit available.

Pricing and Availability

Tutoring is $31/hr, at home, Yarmouth Public Library, or Sun Aquasystems workshop in South Ohio, NS.
STEM Club meets weekday evenings, exact schedule is flexible to accommodate participants.
